Athlete* Experience
Sports has been a fundamental pillar in shaping my experiences through my life, with basketball being the most prominent.
At age 10, I got my first ever pair of “real” basketball shoes, LeBron Soldier 7’s. This pair, combined with my “lucky” bright orange hyper elite socks, helped me get my first ever double digit point in a game where I was much, much shorter than my opponents. It was moments like these where I realized that the right product not only can enhance your physical performance, but can also shape how you perceive yourself both mentally and emotionally.
As I continued to play through my high school and AAU days, I’ve always sought the products that emulate the way I felt when I put on those LeBron Soldier 7’s. Even when I took on new sports, like competing at national-level powerlifting competitions in college, I took time to carefully analyze what product makes me feel the most confident.
To many people, shoes are just shoes. But to me, and to many people I’ve interacted with at Nike, shoes are opportunity. An opportunity to tell your story and to feel your best. The opportunity to elevate athletes in this manner is what led me to pursuing every possible chance to work at Nike.
